For Medical Emergencies
A computer application called Med Records to Gotm, that stores electronic medical records, can help reduce medical errors in emergency conditions, as well as in hospital and medical clinic admissions. Med Records to Go uses flash drive technology to record and store personal health information and external documents for emergency viewing by medical personnel and for electronic transmission to medical facilities using Health Level 7 (HL7) standards.
Private and Self-contained
All medical records, programs, and controls are self-contained in the portable storage unit. The owner has full control over the storage unit and vital medical information. Because the application uses web page format and the installed web browser of the computer, simple buttons are used to view and update medical information. Thus, there is no need to learn a new computer application.
Uses Web Page Format
Moreover, medical personnel do not need to learn a new computer application. When the storage unit is plugged into the common port of the medical facility's computer, the electronic medical records are automatically displayed (autorun/autoplay) in web page format using the Web browser installed on the factility's computer.
Record a Variety of Health Information
The application provides a variety of electronic medical records for recording on the portable device, including medical diagnosis, doctors and specialists, prescription and non-prescription drugs, current treatments, allergies and immunizations, emergency contacts, insurance carriers, hospitalization information, wills, trusts, and DNR orders, digital picture identification, and more. Web pages are provided with various categories for ease of entry of the medical data.
Cell Phone Medical Records
The portable application can transfer medical records from the small storage unit to an Android or iPhone cell phone for emergency reference. The medical records can be viewed by selecting the various categories of data.
No Internet Connection Required
There is absolutely no need to connect to the untrusted, vulnerable Internet to store or view private medical information because programs, data, and controls are in the storage unit. The only exception is that a temporary Internet connection is required to transmit encrypted medical records to a cell phone for emergency viewing, or to transmit medical records to a medical facility/office for treatment or admission.
Password Protected and Encrypted
For added security, Med Records To Go includes the option of establishing a password to protect medical data from unauthorized changes. Also, the medical data stored in the device is encrypted and cannot be read and interpreted by any other application.
Store External Documents and Images
Along with the medical records , important documents and images files of doctor offices and medical facilities can be stored on the portable unit. Emergency personnel can view document and image files with a simple Web page button that displays the contents automatically using the appropriate program installed on their computer.
